Growing Together
A Parent–Child Support Journey Through Adolescence

Growing Together is a year-long support journey for adolescents and their families, offered by Acrophile Foundation.

It has been created to help families navigate the adolescent years with greater understanding, emotional safety, and calm — without judgement, labels, or pressure to “fix” anything.

This programme works with a small number of families each year, keeping the focus on depth, dignity, and presence, rather than scale.

Why Growing Together?

Adolescence is a time of profound internal change.
Young people often experience confusion, pressure, emotional overload, or silence — while parents may struggle to understand what their child is going through or how best to respond.

Growing Together exists to gently bridge this gap.

It is not about correcting parenting or diagnosing children.
It is about listening, understanding, and walking alongside families during these important years.

Who Is This Programme For?

Growing Together is for:

  • Adolescents aged 13–17 years

  • Parents who want to support their child through the growing years

  • Families from diverse socio-economic backgrounds

  • Parents who are open to conversation, reflection, and support

No prior counselling experience is required.
Literacy level, income, or background are not barriers.

Participation is voluntary and based on mutual comfort.

What Does Growing Together Offer?

Each participating family is supported through a thoughtfully paced, year-long journey that includes:

Individual Guidance Sessions

  • 3 structured one-to-one sessions spread across the year

  • Sessions may involve the child, the parent, or both together

  • Focus areas include emotional understanding, pressure, self-worth, and communication

  • Sessions are conducted in person or via video call, depending on comfort and feasibility

A Strong First Connection

  • The first meeting is always in person

  • This helps establish trust, familiarity, and a safe working relationship

  • The focus is on listening and understanding — not intervention or assessment

Thoughtful Assessment

  • A simple, non-diagnostic assessment involving both parent and child

  • Conducted at the beginning and end of the year

  • Helps understand emotional patterns and observe changes over time

  • Used to guide support — not to label or judge

Parent Support & Orientation

  • Gentle guidance to help parents understand adolescent development

  • No lectures, training modules, or blame

  • Focused on realistic, supportive responses at home

Continuity & Holding

  • Periodic check-ins and gentle follow-ups

  • Families know they are not alone in the process

  • Support remains steady, not overwhelming

Are There Group Sessions?

Yes — optionally.

Growing Together may include one or two optional group gatherings during the year. These sessions are designed to:

  • Help parents realise they are not alone

  • Normalise adolescent challenges

  • Create a quiet sense of community

Group sessions are conversational and reflective — not classes or workshops.
There is no pressure to speak, share, or attend.

What Growing Together Is Not

To set clear and respectful expectations, Growing Together is not:

  • A therapy or treatment programme

  • A parenting course or training

  • A crisis intervention service

  • A programme with homework or assignments

  • A system that promises academic or behavioural outcomes

It is a support journey, not a corrective model.

How Is the Programme Delivered?

  • The programme runs for 12 months

  • Sessions are spaced out and scheduled flexibly

  • Video sessions are used when travel or time is a challenge

  • Families may pause or step back at any point without judgement

The emphasis is on accessibility, dignity, and sustainability.

How Many Families Participate Each Year?

Growing Together works with only 20 families per year.

This ensures the programme remains:

  • Personal

  • Respectful

  • Emotionally safe

  • Thoughtfully held

Supporting Growing Together

Supporting one family through a full year of Growing Together costs:

₹20,000 per family per year

This support enables:

  • Individual guidance sessions

  • Assessments and follow-up

  • Group gatherings and shared spaces

  • Ongoing programme holding

Donations can be made in full or as partial contributions.

Support Growing Together

You can contribute any amount or sponsor a family fully.

A Note on Values

Growing Together is grounded in:

  • Respect for families

  • Emotional dignity for adolescents

  • Early support rather than late intervention

  • Presence over pressure

Families are never judged.
Children are never labelled.

In Simple Words

Growing Together is about helping parents and adolescents:

  • Understand each other better

  • Feel less alone

  • Navigate the growing years with support and care

Quietly.
Steadily.
Together.
